The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed the number of positive coronavirus cases reported surpassed 900,000 on Saturday.
The pilot program uses the Abbott rapid antigen test, with results in about 15 minutes.
"We kind of like just a fun theme, not a scary theme," said Marc Tolson, who lives in the North Richland Hills neighborhood Home Town.
Judge Samaniego's orders include shutting down all non-essential services for a two-week period, including in-person dining, gyms and salons.
"If we do not turn these numbers around, we will be facing all time high numbers at Thanksgiving," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
