The Dallas Police Department said the incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of Woodwick Drive.
The Texas DPS said the truck was reported stolen in Garland and did not stop when troopers tried to pull it over.
The boy, who has not been identified, led police on a brief pursuit after being spotted with the stolen vehicle.
The incident was first reported at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
