Small chance of rain possible as North Texas stays mostly sunny and dry
What is typically our second wettest month of the year in North Texas is starting off very dry, with temperatures running 5-10° above normal for this point in the year.
This trend continues, with only isolated shower chances as we head into a new week, and temperatures staying warm as a ridge of high pressure in the upper levels dominates our forecast.
For the first three days of the week, an approaching cold front combined with moisture in the Gulf will bring an isolated shower chance the next few days.
Most areas will stay dry, but a few lucky North Texans may get a quick shower.
This cold front moves through by Wednesday, but it only drops our temperatures by a degree or two. It is a weak front, so we will see little impact.
That's our only real shot for showers through the end of the extended period.
Our ridge of high pressure continues to dominate, leaving us mainly dry and warm for at least the first 2/3rds of the month of October.
Fortunately, humidity remains comfortable, and with dry conditions in place, it is a great week to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
