It has been an active evening across North Texas with an incredible 3 inches of rainfall reported across Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall counties. The intense rainfall rates caused flooding, which closed multiple roads in Rowlett.

First Alert Weather Day is issued for Sunday night. Storms were expected but not forecasted to move as slowly as they have been, which is leading to flooding. There is a potential for more flooding across the metroplex on Sunday night.

Labor Day will start mild, with lows in the lower 70s. Temperatures will be climbing into the upper 80s throughout the day. The high will depend on the cloud cover and where the storms originate. The most robust activity is expected in the afternoon. It is important to note that though no severe weather is expected on Monday, the storms could still bring a flooding and lightning threat. Remember, when thunder roars, head indoors.

By the evening, conditions will likely be mostly clear, and temperatures will be in the lower 80s. Perfect patio game watching weather for the TCU vs. NCU game.

A weak front will move through North Texas on Tuesday, keeping highs below average. The below-average to seasonable weather trend continues throughout the week. Not too bad a start to meteorological fall.
