Sharon Lawson is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor and journalist for CBS Atlanta. She brings decades of experience in broadcast journalism, known for her depth, authenticity, and ability to connect with audiences.
Her career began in southwest Florida as a photojournalist, followed by anchor roles in Maryland, Ohio, and Minneapolis. At NBC 6 Miami, she earned recognition for her Emmy-winning special "Being Black in America" and the NABJ-honored feature "Sisters: Diversity in Politics."
Lawson joined FOX 5 Atlanta in 2017, where she anchored Good Day Atlanta and later hosted its 10 a.m. hour, conducting interviews with prominent figures across entertainment, politics, and community leadership. One of her earliest assignments at FOX 5 took her to Las Vegas to cover the mass shooting.
She has covered major events including Hurricane Charley and Jamaica's General Elections and earned another Emmy for her personal health documentary "Journey to Be Fibroids Free."
A graduate of the University of Central Florida and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Lawson continues to inform and inspire through impactful storytelling and mentorship.
