Brand previously reported for KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, KPTV-TV in Portland, Oregon, and KPSP-TV, the CBS affiliate in Palm Springs, California. She began her career in broadcast news as a writer and associate producer at KFMB-TV, the CBS affiliate in San Diego, California.
Her work has been recognized with a regional Emmy Award for Best Political Reporting for her coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign, a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, and two Associated Press Awards for breaking news.
Brand earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
