Jim's career with CBS began with WBBM-TV in Chicago as a sports anchor. He joined
CBS Miami as its main sports anchor and sports director in 1996.
His broadcasting career began at WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a news reporter and anchor. From there, he moved to WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., as weekend news anchor, before turning to sports. He then landed at WSVN-TV in Miami as its main sports anchor.
Jim has won five Emmy awards, and is in the Silver Circle of Excellence for a distinguished journalism career by the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, Suncoast chapter. He has supported numerous charities that provide mentorship.
He is a jazz singer, and avid tennis player. Jim graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, which has inducted him into its Hall of Achievement. He is married with two children.
