One of the winners of a prestigious award for mathematics had his gold medal stolen only minutes after receiving it. Caucher Birkar, a Kurdish refugee who teaches math at Cambridge University in England, was one of four people honored with a Fields Medal. After his win, he put the award into his briefcase, which disappeared less than an hour later. Tanya Rivero has more.
