The power situation on the island is critical following a 6.4 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday. About 600,000 customers have power at the moment, but around 900,000 people, about a third of the population, are still in the dark.

Over 200 Pakistani inmates escape from prison
More than 200 inmates escaped from a prison and at least one was killed in a shootout in Karachi, Pakistan, after they were temporarily moved out of their cells due to earthquake tremors, officials said Tuesday. The provincial law minister told reporters the inmates were allowed into a courtyard and there was "panic" because of the tremors. A group suddenly attacked guards, seized their weapons, opened fire and fled. A senior police official said 216 inmates fled the prison, and 78 had been recaptured. None of those who escaped were convicted or facing trial as militants.
4.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Tennessee, parts of Georgia and Carolinas
The quake hit around 9 a.m. local time, about 13 miles from Greenback, Tennessee, which is about 30 miles south of Knoxville, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
5.4-magnitude earthquake rattles rural southeastern New Mexico, West Texas
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the earthquake's epicenter was about 35 miles south of Whites City, New Mexico.
