Democrats avoided being shut out of any Congressional races in Tuesday's primaries in California. Democrats are looking to flip several Republican-held House seats in November. In the governor's race, Democratic Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom will face Republican John Cox, who has the backing of President Trump. Americans remain divided on impeachment

Ahead of Wednesday's public impeachment hearings, a CBS News poll finds more than half of Americans approve of the inquiry into President Trump. However, a majority of Americans are unhappy with how the probe is being handled by both Democrats in Congress as well as President Trump. Sanders-backed candidates losing?

As November's midterm elections draw closer, some are wondering if Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders can help progressive candidates claim victory. Candidates backed by "Our Revolution," a political action organization spun out of Sanders' presidential campaign, have won 20 congressional or gubernatorial primaries so far in 2018, and lost 27. Former Senate leadership aide and vice president at MWWPR, Joel Payne, joins CBSN's "Red and Blue" to discuss Sanders' role.
