Third debate shows divide among Democrats

In the third Democratic presidential debate, the ten candidates showed a clear divide between the party's political center and its left wing. It was the first time all the top Democrats in the race appeared together. They displayed more than a diversity of ideas: In a first, there were three women, two African-Americans, one Latino, and one Asian contender on stage telling voters why they should be the next president. Trump whistleblower controversy escalates

Democrats are intensifying their calls for impeachment after President Trump admitted to discussing Joe Biden with the leader of Ukraine. This comes after a U.S. intelligence official filed a whistleblower complaint over the president's July conversation with the Ukrainian leader. Democratic leadership all in on impeachment

House Democrats are on their way to an extraordinary political clash with President Trump, launching a formal impeachment inquiry. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the president violated his oath of office by directly asking a foreign power, the president of Ukraine, to investigate a political rival. Mr. Trump confirms they spoke about Joe Biden but says he did nothing wrong. He plans to release a transcript of his call with Ukraine’s president Wednesday. Nancy Cordes reports.
