There are two things going for the Oakland Raiders this week, as they prepare for their Week Four game in London, England: first, they play the Miami Dolphins, and second, the game is at a neutral site. The Silver & Black can beat the Dolphins, and they won't have the pressure of performing in front of a home crowd.
For the 49ers to avoid a 3 game losing streak they will have to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. San Francisco should be able to win, especially at home, but not if they play like they have the past two weeks.
For the second straight year the 49ers are 1-2. Theories of an organizational collapse abound, ranging from front office discord to referee conspiracy to the coach losing control.
From coached to players the Bucs had one of the most pitiful performances in recent memory. The final of 56 to 14 against the Atlanta Falcons doesn't give this sloppy game any justice. Defense gave up 8 touchdowns while the office turned the ball over with 4 fumbles and a pick-six interception.
The melee appears to have broken at the start of half time near the 50 yard line seats in the upper deck, when 49er fans and Cardinal fans began jawing at each other across an aisle. The initial shoving sent fans down the stairs and onto a walkway below. At that point, fans in Cardinals gear who had not been previously involved began taking swings at the pile, which included both men and women.
The 49ers again fell apart in the second half of a game, letting the Arizona Cardinals overcome a 14-6 half time deficit to win 23-14. Some players and fans blamed the officials.
San Francisco raced to the early lead than watched their opponent come back take the lead and snuff any attempt of a 49er comeback. The end result being a 23-14 Cardinal victory and a 49er team under .500.
The Oakland Raiders were driving for the tying touchdown against the New England Patriots on the road late in the fourth quarter when disaster struck: a deflected interception ended the game with the Raiders coming up short, 16-9. The defense did its job for once; the offense did not.
