Governor Brown Jr. was first elected Governor in California in 1974, the same year California Women Lead, (formerly the California Elected Women's Association-CEWAER) was founded. Governor Brown, Jr. has made it a commitment to get 50 % of women serving in statewide appointments and the turnout last night shows just how far he has come in supporting equality at the state government level.

For the last week, gently used clothing has been collected at various offices at the state capitol, Nissan dealerships and the Capitol Public Radio station which will be given new purpose through WEAVE's Suited for Success program to help women who are re-entering the job market.
