WEAVE Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Fundraiser

WEAVE broke a record for men walking a mile in high heels. The 5th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes benefiting WEAVE was a record breaking effort. The final count of men walking is still be verified but we know we exceeded our #1000menstrong goal and will submit the event for certification with the Guinness Book of World Records. The event raised more than $345,000 with donations still coming in daily. SMUD was the top Corporate Fundraising Team and Josh Hughes won the Top Individual Fundraiser Award.

The Broadway Gala

The Broadway Gala, California Musical Theatre's annual benefit event, was held at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on May 2, 2015 to a sell-out crowd of 400. The co-chairs of the Gala were Dr. Jacquelyn Calkin and Taryn McGrann. Dennis Mangers served as the master of ceremonies. The guests enjoyed a hosted bar, dinner, and live entertainment featuring Jennifer Hope Wills and Rich Hebert, both of whom are Broadway veterans and frequent performers at Music Circus. Also featured was the CMT Broadway Gala singers, a group of 35 children and teens who have participated in many of the education programs provided by California Musical Theatre. The evening included a live auction with David Sobon Auctions and dancing to the band, Clean Slate. The event, now in its fourth year, raised over $250,000 through sponsorships, tickets and the auction. Proceeds benefit California Musical Theatre's arts education programs and the Music Circus productions.

CFMA Sacramento hosted their fourth annual Construction Executive of the Year Awards on April 30, 2015, at Arden Hills Resort & Spa. With approximately 170 guests in attendance, finalists were recognized in the Construction Business Executive, Construction Financial Executive and Associate Member of the year. This year's winners were Business Executive - Ron Brown, President Brown Construction; Financial Executive - Rich Gabel, CFO Frank M. Booth; associate - Ross Cofer, Partner, Gallina, LLP
