Vigils From Orlando To Sacramento Remember Nightclub Shooting Victims

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (CBS13) — A vigil was held outside Pulse Nightclub on Monday night where friends, loved ones and strangers gathered to remember those who lost their lives.

A single bell rang for each of the 49 victims who died in Orlando's shooting massacre as the crowd of hundreds stood in silence to remember the lives lost.

Federal investigators are meticulously combing crime scene inside the Pulse Nightclub now that bodies have been removed and victims identified.

Marcus Geodden was standing next to the shooter inside the club when he opened fire.

"He was looking at us like we were nothing. Like we were pathetic like we just meant nothing," he said.

Geodden played dead to survive then ran out of the club at his first opportunity.

"It's crazy that we have to live like this. Being in fear," he said.

The shooter's childhood friend says there was no indication early on that he was capable of this type of violence.

"Every time I was at his house, his father and mother were kind, quiet never angry or aggressive, there are no political newspaper or guns or gun magazines--anything like that in the house," said Sean Chabani.
