The charter schools in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood are closing after a 15-year-old sophomore was fatally shot Tuesday.
Police said the shooting happened around 7:30 Tuesday morning.
Mastery Charter Schools said Wednesday in a message sent to parents the inspection came back negative.
Philadelphia police identified the student who died Monday as Neko Rivera, 15.
Officials say the damaged asbestos has been a problem for years and the issue has not been dealt with.

The discovery comes one week after exposed asbestos was found in the auditorium and stairwells at Building 21, a high school in West Oak Lane.
Students can still get lunch by stopping at Mastery Prep Elementary School.
Mayfair Elementary School is the only one in the School District of Philadelphia helping students explore vocational programs.
