NEXT Weather

High temps above freezing are on the horizon for Philadelphia region, just in time for Birds weekend

Go Birds. After an Arctic blast from the polar vortex rocked us this week, our NEXT Weather Alert expires Thursday afternoon and we will get closer to seasonable temperatures — though we stay below freezing. Friday into the weekend, temps break past the freezing point, and Sunday's high of 45 will feel balmy after the cold weather we've had. Meteorologist Kate Bilo has the full forecast.

Arctic air invades Philadelphia area on Monday followed by sub-zero wind chills

This week will be dry in the Philadelphia area, however, the snow that's already on the ground will be sticking around. Expect plenty of sunshine to start the day, with temperatures in the teens. Wind chills will be in the teens and single digits all day long — and with the temperatures holding steady in the low 20s at best — we're likely to see the feels-like temperatures colder in the afternoon vs. the morning.
