Illegal dumping is a significant problem in Philadelphia, costing taxpayers approximately $2 million every year.
It's been a year since the City of Camden took steps toward stopping illegal dumping, and leaders say they're seeing results. The city installed cameras in key areas in July 2024 to catch anyone leaving trash or debris in places they shouldn't. Police said they are able to respond quickly to locations and cite or arrest the people responsible. The mayor spoke about the city's efforts.
