Clouds clear to mostly sunny skies with warm temperatures in Philadelphia region. Here's the forecast.
As we slide into the second half of the weekend, we get sunshine back and keep the warmer-than-normal temperatures. Temperatures on Sunday will return to the mid-80s by the afternoon, running a good 7-10 degrees above normal.
This will all make for great weather for the Phillies as they take on the Twins Sunday afternoon. First pitch is at 3:05 p.m., and if you're heading out to the game, you can expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 80s throughout the game.
It'll remain mostly clear into Sunday night before a few areas of dense fog develop early Tuesday morning. The fog will be most likely south of the I-95 corridor, across areas that saw the most rainfall Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Heading into the start of the week, high pressure stays in control while a couple of tropical systems spin well offshore. For us, that means more clouds south of Philly and maybe a stray shower, while areas farther north stay mostly dry. Temperatures stay warm with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s on Monday, slipping back into the upper 70s on Tuesday as cloud cover thickens.
By midweek, a strong cold front sweeps through and ushers in the coolest air we've seen so far this season. Winds turn breezy, especially along the coast, and highs may not even reach 70 by Thursday.
Nights will be chilly, dropping into the 40s for many and even the 30s in the Poconos, where a touch of frost is possible. By late week, a big Canadian high settles in, calming the winds and bringing sunshine back. Temperatures will start to rebound into the low 70s by Saturday, with nights not quite as cold.
