Cooler and windy Monday in Philadelphia area. Here's the weather forecast.

A cold front swept through the region early this morning to bring widespread gusty showers, but as the front moves east, drier and cooler air will now begin to rush into the area. While temperatures started in the upper 50s this morning, they will only warm into the mid-60s by this afternoon due to a breezy west-northwesterly wind throughout the day.

A breezy morning will turn into a windy afternoon as wind gusts increase to near 35 mph through early this afternoon before finally beginning to relax through this evening into tonight. Otherwise, skies will have a mix of sun and clouds today before becoming mostly clear overnight.

Temperatures Monday night will be a little more on the cool side, with lows in the mid-40s across the Delaware Valley and even some low 40s and upper 30s in the Lehigh Valley.

A warm front will push north of the region on Tuesday, which will help temperatures make their way back to near 70 degrees on Tuesday afternoon before another cold front approaches that night.

Ahead of this cold front, another round of showers will work over the area overnight into Wednesday morning. Most of the rain looks to end by the morning commute on Wednesday, with even cooler air settling in for the remainder of the week into the weekend.

High temperatures through Sunday will be in the mid to low 60s, with low temperatures in the low and middle 40s. The high-pressure system ushering in this dose of more fall-like temperatures will also provide plenty of sunshine through Saturday before a little more cloud cover and even a few showers return late Sunday into Monday.
