Breezy and mild Wednesday in Philadelphia region as temps hit 50s. Here's the weather forecast.

Dense fog that blanketed parts of the Philadelphia region overnight and Wednesday morning is mixing out. Air quality around Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware was impacted this morning with air stagnant and trapped near the surface due to the fog. Now air quality is improving as the fog clears.

Clouds in the morning will give way to sunshine as temperatures warm into the 50s this afternoon. You'll need a light jacket, but nothing too heavy during this reprieve from harsh winter temps.

It will be a bit breezy with gusts to 25-30 mph, so a little extra hairspray wouldn't hurt either.

NEXT big weather change

It's a winter warmup with highs in the 50s and near 60 from Wednesday through Saturday. While Wednesday is breezy, the wind dies down a bit Thursday, and it'll be a great afternoon to be outdoors.

Friday starts out warm and dry, with possibly some early sunshine and a chance to hit 60 degrees. That will depend on when showers arrive.

We will likely see a few scattered showers by the time of the Friday evening commute, but some steadier rain Saturday, so you'll unfortunately need the umbrellas handy for any outdoor plans.

As of now, it looks like the rain will clear in time for the Eagles' wild-card game Sunday, but temperatures will be dropping throughout the day, and it will turn quite windy, so if you have tickets, be sure to bundle!
