Things are shaping up nicely on this Friday after last night's showers and storms. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon with temperatures climbing into the 80s. You'll feel that humidity, too, with dew points will into the 60s. Other than that, it's a fine finish to this work week.

Skies will be mostly clear tonight. Lows will be in the 60s for most and low 70s around the city.

The weekend is a tale of two seasons! On Saturday, the warmth and humidity stick around with highs in the mid to upper 80s. After a bright and quiet morning, clouds will bubble up ahead of our next front.

We've issued a First Alert Weather Day for the afternoon and evening hours as showers and storms develop. With ample moisture and heating, a few storms could be strong to severe. As usual, the main threats will be heavy rain and damaging winds.

Behind the front on Sunday, things turn much cooler. We lose the humidity as well, but it does remain a bit unsettled, especially for the morning hours. Some lingering showers will be around before we hopefully dry out some for the second half of the day. Temperatures will only be in the 60s, struggling to hit 70 degrees.

After that, next week looks like another sunny, rain-free stretch with temperatures in the 70s. Unfortunately, that won't help with the increasing drought conditions despite this weekend's rain.

Have a great weekend and just keep an eye to the sky heading into Saturday afternoon.
