First Alert Weather: Red Alert for rainy, windy conditions late Tuesday into Wednesday

Alert: Red Alert 9 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday for heavier rounds of a windswept rain. Coastal flood alerts go into effect overnight as well. Gusts of 45-50 mph possible at our shorelines.
Advisories: Coastal Flood Advisories on Wednesday from 1 a.m. until 11 a.m. due to the potential for minor flooding.
Timing
9 p.m. Tuesday - 5 a.m. Wednesday: The brunt. Heavier rain migrates east and takes over. A rumble of thunder is possible as the low-pressure system passes. Winds really kick in at this time. No advisories issued yet.
5-9 a.m. Wednesday: The storm pushes east over Long Island and Connecticut. The worst of the storm is now east of New York City, with some partial drying progressing west to east as the morning unfolds. Gusty winds and the last of the rain are over Nassau and Suffolk counties.
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Wednesday: The drying starts to take over, temps warm up into the upper 50s, and we remain breezy, but below any warning criteria.
Looking Ahead
Thursday (Thanksgiving): Seasonal sunshine and breezy. Highs in the low 50s.
Friday (Black Friday): Partly to mostly cloudy and chilly. Highs near 50.
Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy and colder. Highs in the 40s.
