'U' Students Relocated From Moldy Dorm Rooms

Some students at the University of Minnesota were forced out of their apartments due to moldy dorm rooms. Students found visible mold in some of the dorms in Frontier Hall at the end of September. The University's Department of Environmental Health and Safety tested 35 rooms and found mold in 18. They said the mold likely was a result of the high heat and humidity in August, so mold grew in the air conditioning units and spread to the carpet.

Orchestra ended at the University of Minnesota's Ted Mann Concert Hall, where he received a standing ovation when he first walked out on stage in the final of three farewell performances. Vänskä resigned from the orchestra on Tuesday, more than one year after his musicians went on strike in protest of management's deep pay cuts in the wake of major building renovations.

Family Searches Again For Missing U of M Student

Family members and volunteers are searching again in the southern Twin Cities suburbs for a University of Minnesota student who's been missing since the night her ex-boyfriend killed another man outside a Burnsville bar. Anna Rae Schunk reconnected with Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, 31, in hopes of recovering a $5,000 loan he never repaid, but it may have been a fatal mistake for the 20-year-old. Schunk's brother says police told their family they found his sister's white jacket with a U of M logo, covered with blood and 18 to 20 holes that may indicate she was stabbed.
