Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is a veteran-focused nonprofit organization providing services and support to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. MACV envisions a future where every veteran living in Minnesota has access to the services and support needed to avoid homelessness and achieve sustainable housing.

To help bring the magic of the season to Veterans living in MACV's transitional homes, we're inviting viewers to donate ornaments to decorate WCCO's Community Trees.
This year, during December, our Community Trees will shine bright at Mall of America®, for guests and families to enjoy in person!
The trees will be in the Level 1 Atrium by the North Entrance.
Minnesotans are encouraged to learn more and contribute ornaments by bringing items in person between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.on Dec. 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20.
The campaign will kick off with a festive Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m., featuring WCCO-TV personalities, community partners, and special guests.
Once the trees are beautifully decorated, the ornaments, along with a (smaller) tree, will be delivered to one of MACV's transitional homes in time for the holidays.
We hope the WCCO Community Tree will bring warmth, joy, and a touch of holiday spirit to those currently living in the homes, as well as future families.

Winter Salute to Veterans
As part of WCCO's Home for the Holidays, we are proud to partner with MACV and the Minnesota Twins in hosting a Winter Salute to Veterans to serve those who first served us.
During Vietnam, stand-downs provided a safe retreat for units returning from combat operations. They afforded battle-weary soldiers the opportunity to renew their spirit, health and overall sense of well-being. MACV has created its own version that brings veterans experiencing homelessness into one location to connect with services to help bring security and a sense of well-being to their lives.
This December at Target Field, 300 veterans will receive services such as haircuts, legal assistance, medical care and much more. A warm holiday meal will also be provided along with a special program.
