The incident happened at 3:40 p.m. on Monday while Jose Angel Abreu Hernandez, 37, from Opa-locka, was spearfishing with a friend on a reef off the coast of Key West.
The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital alert and responsive.
Florida saw six shark attacks injure nine people over the last month.
The teen literally ran into the shark Monday at Ponce Inlet in Volusia County.
This is the third attack in Volusia County in the past week.
The 14-year-old boy had been practicing water entries when he landed on a shark, officials said.
