Two Southern California residents, unknown to each other until a scary event, are alive and able to tell the tale after someone fired shots at their vehicles while they were driving on the freeway.
All lanes of the southbound 405 Freeway were temporarily blocked Tuesday in the Sepulveda Pass following a two-vehicle collision.
Fire crews were battling a large structure fire in Van Nuys on Friday night.
The fire first started as a two-acre grass fire at about 12:10 p.m., but is now threatening to move into heavy brush.
The California Department of Transportation, which removed the unauthorized sign, said it was taken down because it was a distraction and a safety hazard.
The letters went up sometime overnight between Monday night and Tuesday morning on a hillside along the southbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.

The 405 and 110 Freeway connector will be closed for 60 hours this weekend as part of a widening project, Caltrans announced.
No homes were threatened and no evacuations had been issued.
Police responded to the crash around 7 p.m., which involved a motorcyclist who died on scene. Information on the victim has not been released.
