Michele Gile (CBS)

Award-winning journalist Michele Gile has been with CBS LA since its inception. She recently celebrated her 35th anniversary as the station's Orange County Bureau Chief.

Michele started her career in Palm Springs after graduating from USC. Before pursuing a degree in journalism, Michele spent her first two years of college at UCLA. Local college sports fans often ask her- Bruins or Trojans?

She made the move from the desert to the sea for her second reporting job in Santa Barbara. Weekend reporting at CNN's Los Angeles bureau was the next stop before Michele signed on with CBS LA.

She's spent more than three decades in the field documenting some of our biggest stories including the recent Palisades fire, the OJ Simpson slow speed pursuit, the LA riots, Northridge earthquake, UCI fertility scandal, San Bernardino County terrorist bombing, Seal Beach mass murder and Huntington Beach oil spill.

Michele was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Radio Television News Association and has received two Emmy awards, a Golden Mic and the Clarion Award for the best TV spot news story.
