Today (8/30) is the kick-off of the 35th Annual Chalk It Up! Chalk Art & Music Festival, presented by Taco Bell Cantina, at Fremont Park in Midtown Sacramento. This free, all-ages event invites the public to experience live art as it’s being created, hear local bands, explore artisan and food vendors, and enjoy interactive activities for the whole family.
The 14th Annual Banana Festival at William Land Park -- Continues TODAY! It started yesterday. It's a family-friendly multicultural event with live music, food, drinks, and fun for all ages. The event celebrates the beautiful countries in the world where bananas grow, their cultures, ethnic diversity, food, and music. Bring the whole family to William Land Park for food, fun, art, and amazing entertainment!
Ahead of tonight’s (8/16) First Responders’ Night at the Republic FC match, the club is teaming up with Medic Ambulance to provide a free training for youth soccer coaches to become certified in CPR and AED. This is a vital skill that not only saves lives, but will also be a requirement for coaches in the future.
Homemade Japanese food will be available for sale, such as sushi, noodles, Japanese pastries and delicious desserts. The Japanese Bazaar will also feature live entertainment, games and prizes for children. As always, it is free admission.
Milgard Windows and Doors and the Miter Foundation, which oversees philanthropic efforts for the company, are partnering with The Salvation Army and Target to help about 40 kids start the school year with about $250 in free clothes, school supplies and a backpack.

The music festival portion of the day will feature 10 bands, line dancing, a fashion show and a tribute to the Black Cowboy. We will also be crowning the best of the best in food with the annual BIG BOSS BBQ COOK-OFF Competition. Children 12 and under accompanied by an adult will get free admission. There will be an animal farm, pony rides, and more in the Cow Poke Zone. Join the Cowboys for roping demonstrations, riding and horse prancing showcase.

The Creative Space is partnering with Arden Fair for an indoor summer pop-up on Saturday, July 19th from 12pm-6pm. Summers are hot in Sacramento, and it’s hard to find something for the whole family to enjoy. This event will have music, food, hula performances by several halaus from the Sacramento region, and products from over 40 local small businesses, with the beautiful Arden Fair as its canvas.
The Ruby Jewell Track Club, is a Sacramento based youth track and field club that works with kids ages 5-18. They have qualified for the 2025 AAU Jr Olympics in Houston, Texas, July 26th - August 2nd. Currently they have more than 10 athletes ranked in the top 25 in their events in the country, and heading into the Jr Olympics we have several with top 10 qualifying times/marks.
A dynamic destination for fresh foods and artisan-made goods perfect for summer gatherings large and small, the Midtown Farmers Market also offers a variety of lively activations in July, including a qualifying round of an oyster shucking competition, aerial circus performances and activities, entertaining live and DJ music, and much more!!
While activations are already underway at the Midtown Farmers Market, we're previewing activities happening later in the day. The afternoon and early evening is filled with vibrant activations highlighted by a curated Midtown Second Saturday Art Walk that is available with stops at galleries, studios, restaurants, bars, and multi-family properties and includes pop-up art experiences. With a lively “Art in Motion” theme, highlights of the curated art walk include performance art and entertaining live music.
