To pass a measure to fund the government, Van Hollen says what Republicans have "called for is sort of just a double cross on the process."

Vought on Project 2025 and the Fed
Amid President Trump's displeasure with Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell, Russ Vought, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that although he is one of the authors of the conservative guidebook Project 2025, he doesn't "even know what that chapter says" about the Fed. Plus, although he said a few weeks ago that the appropriations process needs to be less bipartisan, as the government faces a government funding deadline, he insisted Sunday that he is "not laying the predicate for a shutdown."
French foreign minister on Israel, Gaza
With France set to become the first major Western democracy to recognize a Palestinian state, Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that "what's happening in Gaza right now is appalling." Barrot said his office has been working for months to get humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
In reversal, Israel to allow aid into Gaza
In an abrupt reversal, Israel cleared the way for more aid to enter Gaza, saying it will open secure routes for aid trucks as widespread hunger and even starvation has grown in the territory. Elizabeth Palmer reports.
