Mattie Mitchell started a group to do good deeds for other families following her son's death at one month old.
"Whether you're Native American, African American, Christian American, left American, right American — kindness is that universal language between us all," the anonymous businessman said.
"Sometimes it takes sort of a crisis, if you will, to appreciate what you have," said store owner Dan Fraser.
