Police were trying to disarm a 16-year-old boy when the gun the teen had in his waistband went off and struck both the teen and an officer in Englewood. Darius Johnson reports.
One victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries, though police did not specify what those injuries were.
Chicago police said that just before 2 a.m., the victim was approached in the 2800 block of South Kolin Avenue by someone wearing all black, who then fired shots and fled in an unknown direction.
Police said, around 8:40 a.m., a 33-year-old man was riding a Red Line train near the Argyle stop, when a 23-year-old woman approached him, and they got into an argument.
So far, police have not made any arrests in the case.
