Two men have been charged in the shooting death of a 24-year-old Chicago father who was robbed and killed on his way to work last month.
Chicago police said he was taken into custody on Friday by members of the Bureau of Counter Terrorism Mass Transit Team in the 1400 block of West 63rd Street.
Members of the Public Transportation Section arrested the 15-year-old on Tuesday in the 8500 block of South Lafayette Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood.
The robbery happened just before 7 p.m. at the Grand Street stop in the 500 block of North State Street.
In both incidents, a passenger on the train was approached by the suspects and had their belongings taken by force.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office Northern District of Illinois, the crimes resulted in a total loss of around $3.8 million.
Police said the teen, whose name was not released, has been charged with 25 counts of armed robbery with a firearm and two counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking.
Mass Transit detectives said the robbery happened on May 9 just after 2 p.m. at the 69th Street stop.
