In two separte incidents, a man and a woman approached the victims and started a conversation before demanding money and jewelry.
Authorities say on May 26, the suspect, while riding the train at 35th Street, approached the rider and threaten to use force before taking the phone from her hand.
The robberies happened on June 4 at the Library State/ Van Buren stop, located in the 0-100 block of West Van Buren Street.
Over a span of two and a half hours, the four robbers held up at least six people.
Police said a front window was broken, the door was damaged and the safe was stolen.
