The Chicago Board of Education took a key vote on Thursday that could alter the future of schools in the city. It's called the district's five-year strategic plan. It outlines values to guide what Chicago Public Schools could soon look like. A letter sent to parents said the vote did not mean the closing of selective enrollment schools, but some parents fear that's exactly what will happen.

The six-year completion rate jumps to 51%.
