He was charged with five felony counts of robbery while armed with a firearm.
Aaron Thompson, 29, appeared for a sentencing hearing in front of Judge Brian Telander Friday, where the state asked for the maximum penalty of 45 years.
The robberies occurred on the city's Near West Side between Jan. 1 and 5 in the afternoon and evening.
The teen was arrested on Thursday in the 7500 block of South Carpenter and was charged with five felony counts of armed robbery and one felony count of aggravated vehicle hijacking.
The incidents happened on Saturday in the Chatham, Little Italy, and Auburn Gresham neighborhoods
Chicago police said a 29-year-old man was working when three unknown men entered and approached him, displayed firearms, and demanded property.
Police said in each of the robberies, a group of three men wearing black hoodies and ski masks walked up to their victims with a handgun and demanded their vehicle.
Police say the 31-year-old woman was a passenger in a parked car when five people got out of another car and tried to rob.
The victim was shot in the chest and right leg, police said.
The robberies all happened in the early morning hours Friday, Dec. 6.
