He was charged with five felony counts of robbery while armed with a firearm.
Aaron Thompson, 29, appeared for a sentencing hearing in front of Judge Brian Telander Friday, where the state asked for the maximum penalty of 45 years.
The robberies occurred on the city's Near West Side between Jan. 1 and 5 in the afternoon and evening.
The teen was arrested on Thursday in the 7500 block of South Carpenter and was charged with five felony counts of armed robbery and one felony count of aggravated vehicle hijacking.
